Imagine for a moment a church that boldly preaches Jesus to the lost, makes disciples, teaches verse-by-verse through the entire Bible, talks about the end times, teaches the kids directly from the Bible, doesn't ask for money, loves the lost and least, isn't concerned about church growth, and doesn't have a church building fund. That's Stateline Bible Church.
Teaching. Teaching is what sets Stateline Bible Church apart from other churches. That's not to say our teaching is necessarily better, just that it's... different. More than any other church in the Moscow-Pullman area, Stateline Bible Church emphasizes the End Times, the Rapture, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. But what really sets us apart is our teaching. Our messages have a no-holds-barred teaching style that is hard to describe and really just has to be experienced. Read on if you would like to learn more about our church, our pastors, and our ministry philosophy.
Jesus loves people just the way they are, but He loves them too much to leave them that way. We all have a past - but we all have a future in Christ. The Jesus of the Bible is totally incompatible not only with the culture itself, but also with the comfortable, academic "churchianity" that sadly often passes for Christianity in our present day. Now more than ever, there’s a war on for the heart and mind of the church. Compromise is rampant. As are distractions. False doctrine is flooding in. But Stateline Bible Church is holding fast to the Word of God and “the faith once delivered to the saints”. We're refusing to allow the fallen culture to control the narrative and move the goalpost. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” No politics. No woke theology. Just the Word of God and the God of the Word.
Here at Stateline Bible Church, we endeavor to use the church to build the people, rather than using people to build the church. Therefore, we're not concerned about the church growing, as our focus is on the growth of those attending the church. Besides, growing the church isn't our job, it's God's, and it happens naturally as we focus on Jesus.
Our vision for Stateline Bible Church is a simple one: living out our faith by digging in deep to God's Word, sharing Christ, supporting missions, maturing believers, loving people, and seeing lives changed by Jesus. Those are our priorities - so unless God just plops it into our laps, we'll never have a multi-million dollar 'campus' with a concert-quality worship 'experience' -- and no matter what we'll never have sermons that sound like motivational speeches. But seriously, how has that been working anyways? We believe those things have often done more harm than good. We want to, instead, focus on simply teaching the Word of God simply. Knowing Jesus, and making Him known!
Our model is the early church as recorded in the book of Acts, and the early years of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, when revival was taking place around town, out in the streets, and down at the beaches as Christians were preaching Jesus to the hippies, the druggies, and the least of these. People got saved, lives got changed, and a movement was born. That was 60 years ago. Things have changed. For better and for worse. But God still wants people who are desperate for Him, unsatisfied with a comfortable, Sunday-morning Christianity, and looking for a deeper, more sold-out relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our heart is to equip believers to live sold out lives for Jesus Christ in these last days. We endeavor to do that through applicable, in-depth verse-by-verse Bible teaching, sincere fellowship, and Christ-centered worship and discipleship. The Holy Spirit, speaking through Paul, tells us, “since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be”? Or put another way, if all the things written in the Bible are true, and Jesus Christ will one day very soon open up the sky to judge the living and the dead, then how should would be spending our precious time during our brief sojourn under this sun?
Our desire is to make disciples of Christ who have counted the cost, found Christ worthy, and have "reckoned the old man dead" in favor of living a life of serving Christ with every fiber of their being. A faith that actually affects the way they live out their lives. A faith the impacts the world for Jesus!
