Stateline first began meeting in the Summer of 2023!
We are a church that believes in exegetical, expositional Bible teaching and preaching. We employ a conservative historical-grammatical hermeneutic and we believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of the Scriptures. In simple terms, we believe the Bible is perfect and inerrant and we believe in letting the Bible interpret the Bible.
Our roots were in Calvary Chapel but we're truly non-denominational. We are a theologically conservative Bible church that is all about Jesus and teaches verse-by-verse through the entire Bible.
Neither. Seriously. After hundreds of hours prayerfully researching both positions, we can honestly say that we align with neither position. Therefore we just let the Bible speak for itself when it comes to soteriology, desiring to instead focus on reaching the lost, discipling the saved, and whenever possible, striving to maintain the unity of the body of Christ among Bible-believing Christians who refuse to compromise and instead endeavor to hold fast to the faith once delivered to the saints.
No. Some people will want to wear sandals, shorts, and a t-shirt, others will want to wear their Sunday best. Since we are a church that is heavy on evangelism, we recognize that not everyone attending an SBC service is a Christian. So we try to have grace and not expect non-Christians to act like Christians.
We have an outstanding kid's church program that teaches children the love of Christ using the Bible rather than focusing on entertainment -- even kids that don't like "Sunday school" love our children's church.
Our services usually run between 75 and 90 minutes, with about 20 minutes of worship, followed by a sermon somewhere between 35 to 55 minutes long. Afterwards we fellowship together as a church over pizza while the kids play, but obviously that's optional since we understand some people have plans after church.
We sing modern & contemporary worship songs with an emphasis on lyrics that are Biblical and glorifying to God rather than focused on man. Everything from Keith Green and Jeremy Camp to Shane & Shane and Chris Tomlin.
